Donate A Bike

Have an unused bicycle collecting dust in your house? An old junk bike taking up space in your garage? Bike parts just sitting around? Donate them to Bicycling in Greensboro! We will recycle your adult bike(s) or bike parts for our Changing Gears program. With the help of our dedicated volunteer mechanics BIG takes your donated bike(s) refurbishes the ones that can be returned to working order and uses those that can't be restored as parts. By donating you are improving the quality of life for someone in our community

As an added bonus you gain some additional space in your house, divert bicycles from the local landfill, and get a gift donation receipt so you can write the donation off on your taxes!

Donation Drop-off Locations

Bicycling in Greensboro (BIG) is seeking used bikes for use in its Changing Gears program and is not able to pick up bicycles at this time and asks that anyone who has a bicycle suitable for an adult for donation to drop the bicycle off at the Interactive Resource Center (407 E Washington St, Greensboro, NC 27401) between 8 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday, or between 8 am and 12 pm, Saturday or Sunday. If you have a gently used child's bike to donate, you can donate it at The Lotus Center. These bikes will be repaired and given for free to clients at Church World Service or will be used by young people at the Warnersville Rec Center. Unfortunately at this time, our friends at The Lotus Center are unable to provide gift donation receipts for tax purposes but your used bike will still improve the lives of others in our community.

Please drop children's bikes off at The Lotus Center at 2412 Lawndale Ave, Greensboro, NC 27408. Bikes may be left in the backyard if no one else is there or you may contact or text 336.459.0711 to arrange a pickup/drop off.
