Donate a Bicycle

Have an unused bicycle collecting dust in your house? An old junk bike taking up space in your garage? Bike parts just sitting around? Donate them to Bicycling in Greensboro!

We will recycle your bike(s) or bike parts for our Changing Gears program. With the help of our dedicated volunteer mechanics, BIG takes your donated bike(s), refurbishes those that can be returned to working order, uses those that can't be restored as parts, etc. Bikes that are not appropriate for Changing Gears may be made safe to ride and sold to help fund the program. By donating a bike or items valuable to cyclists, you are improving the quality of life for someone in our community

As an added bonus you gain some additional space in your house, divert bicycles from the local landfill, and get a gift donation receipt so you can write the donation off on your taxes!

Donation Drop-off Locations

Bicycling in Greensboro (BIG) is seeking used bikes for use in its Changing Gears program and is not able to pick up bicycles at this time and asks that anyone who has a bicycle for donation to drop the bicycle off at the Interactive Resource Center (407 E Washington St, Greensboro, NC 27401) between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Please contact Projects Coordinator Nicole Lindahl if you'd like to make arrangements to drop off a bike outside of these hours: Nicole.Lindahl@BikeGSO.org

The IRC will provide a receipt from BIG at the time of the bike donation for any donor who would like a receipt for his/her donation. If you have questions, email
Nicole.Lindahl@BikeGSO.org or ChangingGearsTeam@BikeGSO.org

Thank you for considering donating your bike to Bicycling in Greensboro. We appreciate any and all donations to support cycling in our community.
